Discounted Lessons at High Five Kitesurf and SUP Cape Town
Book a few sessions with High Five’s gurus and you’ll be a pro in no time
Throw caution to the wind and launch yourself into Cape Town’s watersports culture. High Five kitesurf school is offering thrill seekers the chance to learn this pulse-racing skill for a fraction of the cost. CapeTownMagazine.com readers can take advantage of the 3-for-2 kitesurfing special. Mention our site when you are making the booking and automatically qualify for the discount.
The 3-for-2 special saves learners R800 (the third person takes part for FREE) and is the perfect opportunity for those seeking a sea adventure to learn something new – and have a whale of a time doing it! Trained by the only International Kitesurfing Organisation (IKO)-approved school in the Mother City means that you’re getting world-class guidance at a steal. The High Five instructors are as patient as they are enthusiastic so you and your friends are assured that you can go at your own pace and that you will definitely learn how to do it right.
Combining basic kite flying techniques with the thrill of wakeboarding, this sport allows adventurers to move up to an exhilarating 60 knots per hour (111km/h) and to achieve gravity-defying acrobatics. Be warned though, once you’ve had a taste (and felt the rush) of this water sport and the incredible hospitality of High Five, you’ll be craving your next fix in no time!
High Five classes are ordinarily limited to two people (the special being the only exception), so if you’re looking to book more classes you are guaranteed your instructor’s undivided attention. Thanks to our warm weather, consistent wind, surf spot variation and only moderately busy beaches, Cape Town is recognised as one of the world’s foremost kitesurfing hot spots, and thus gives first timers the benefit of shredding, boosting, looping, rolling and unhooking (or at least learning the lingo!) in an optimal environment.
High Five provides everything from boards and kites to harnesses and wetsuits (included in the lesson cost), so all you need is a warrior’s dose of courage and you’re ready to go. And remember, as long as the wind is blowing, the school is open!
