Watershed Perform to Raise Money for Local Volunteers

Everyone needs a helping hand, especially those risking their lives for all of us

Cape Town is in the middle of a serious water crisis, and now, more than ever, we need to consider what that means for vital services such as our fire crews. The brave emergency service personnel, both professional and those volunteering, deserve our support. On Friday, 10 November 2017 both the Good Hope and the Newlands Rotary Clubs of both Good Hope and the Rotary Club of Newlands are hosting this live music event to raise funds and awareness for the cause.

Stand the chance to win fun prizes while you enjoy music from the award-winning SAcan band; Watershed. This acoustic rock band has given us anthems like Indigo Girl as well as releasing chart-topping albums like In the Meantime, Wrapped in Stone, Mosaic, A Million Faces and more. Made in Africa, a jazz band from the Ocean View, will also take to the stage.

Another attraction on the day has to be the auction. The MC for the evening is former Protea Cricketer Robin Jackman, and he’ll be offering up a cricket bat and jersey at the auction. The price of your ticket (R250/p) includes a raffle entry, which means you could win a weekend away at any Protea Hotel; a prize worth R5000!

TICKETS TO THE 2017 FIRE-FIGHTER FUNDRAISER AT THE FISH HOEK CIVIC CENTRE

Tickets are available for R250/p, and can be purchased by contacting the organiser directly by emailing susan@jap.co.za or giving them a call on +27 (0)82 964 9698.  All of the money raised (their aim for the evening is R50,000) will be spent on a support car, fire resistant clothing and much needed equipment for the fire crews and .

We don’t have an area spotlight on Fish Hoek, but we do have one on Simon’s Town, and here it is!
