Get on down to the awesomely old-school Alexander Bar, Cafe and Theatre on Sunday, 25 June 2017 for some intimate hours of live entertainment as The Swing Collective take you on a blast from the past with their 1920’s inspired energetic swing pop performance that boasts a quirky contemporary twist.
Fresh on the Cape Town music scene, the five-piece band is comprised of professional musicians that are all currently very active in the industry. Their speciality is swing classics and pop tunes that have been revamped with that well-loved old-school swing twist. Their signature mark is mixing retro swing with a contemporary interesting sound.
Alexander Bar, Cafe and Theatre is an old-world space that welcomes thespians, literary lovers, music fanatics and hungry tummies alike. The 275-year-old heritage building in which it is set is on Strand Street in the central business district of Cape Town. It boasts a revolving couch, a functioning rotary dial phone system between tables, ambient lighting and an ever-changing smooth jazz music backdrop. Their buzzing upstairs theatre space offers a diverse programme of theatre, music and drama to treat you to some of the best theatrical delights in the Mother City. Gather your favourite theatre lovers, dress to impress and enjoy an evening of entertainment like no other. You can also grab a bite to eat and sip on some tantalising cocktails while you watch the show.

Tickets cost R100 at the bar, but if you buy them online at Alexanderbar.co.za you can save R10 as they cost R90 online. The show runs between 7:30pm and 10:30pm.
