The Next Edition of Comedy at the Vines Brings you Stuart Taylor at Spier

For Good Laughs, Great Company and Delicious Food, Head to Comedy in the Vines at Spier Wine Farm to Watch Stuart Taylor

Bringing you two awesome shows in November and December last year, Spier’s Comedy in the Vines enters 2018 with the legendary comedian Stuart Taylor. On Saturday, 27 January head to Spier and prepare to laugh your socks off.

Hailing from Cape Town and before becoming a comedian, Stuart Taylor studied science at the University of Stellenbosch and obviously donned the signature white coat too. And if you can remember, he used to be the presenter of the SABC 2 show Going Nowhere Slowly. The show featured Stuart travelling around Southern Africa documenting his experiences as he went along. Joining him on some of his adventures was fellow comedian Kurt Schoonraad and South African actor Ashley Dowds.

A COMIC OF NOTE

Stuart has won numerous awards and held many titles as one of South Africa’s best comedians, including South Africa’s Comedy Magic Champion (a title he held for 3 years), Overall Best Comedy award at the National Arts Festival in 2008 and the Show Time award in 2007 for the best solo performance.

His popularity and adoration from both critics and fans saw Stuart become a household name on TV, theatre and boardrooms across SA – but it didn’t stop there. His ability to electrify an audience lead him to perform at the Pleasance Dome at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. In 2012 his solo performance ‘Money’s Too Tight To Mention’ was a hit and left audiences laughing non-stop, and his latest solo offering, ‘Learner Husband’ had showings at both the Baxter Theatre in Cape Town and the Market Theatre in Johannesburg, ultimately met with critical acclaim – this show was built on his success of his previous solo performance, ‘Techni-Coloured’. Next on Spier’s Comedy in the Vines line-up is Marc Lottering in February.

Watch the video below of Taylor performing some stand-up comedy:

Spier will have a gourmet picnic basket on sale. It will include a bottle of Spier Signature, a wine that is the pride of the estate. If you don’t like eating al-fresco at Eight Restaurant, the Farm Kitchen and Hoghouse BBQ and Bakery will be open before the show.

TICKETS TO THE 2018 COMEDY IN THE VINES AT SPIER

Comedy in the Vines with Stuart Taylor starts at 6:30pm. Spier recommends that you arrive at 5pm and have a drink on the lawn before the show starts, which lasts an hour with no interval.
