Tea Tasting with Jess Bonin at The Dispensary

Try out some lovely flavours and sip away; after all, you can never have too much tea.

There are so many beautiful things about tea. It’s the drink that unites, and friendships are often said to have been formed over a cup of this leafy liquid refreshment. It’s no wonder that so many different cultures around the world have their own tea-drinking rituals. On Saturday, 3 June 2017, The Dispensary gives you an opportunity to indulge in your favourite beverage at their seaside health and lifestyle shop in Melkbosstrand, as you will be tasting a selection of blends from Cape Town’s beloved tea parlour, Lady Bonin’s. All the while, you will be in the company of (get ready fans) the master tea lady herself, Jess Bonin, who will also be there to tell you a bit about her legendary teas!

A healthy, totally gluten-free and vegan Inspiration Menu, designed to pair delectably with the teas you will be sipping, will be served as you enjoy the view of the ocean. The Dispensary prides itself on the fact that their ingredients are nutritious, organic, and alongside Lady Bonin’s beneficial blends; the afternoon promises to be a guiltless yet sumptuous high tea that leaves your body feeling good.

Tea is not just delicious, comforting and the solution to every problem; it is also a revitalising drink packed with cancer-fighting antioxidants and nutrients, so don’t feel too bad if you’re steeped (tea pun!) in your addiction. Lady Bonin is especially focused on purveying teas of the highest quality that have retained all the healthy goodness. What’s more, all of the brand’s products, both local and imported, are organic, ethically produced, and fair-trade. Lady Bonin’s Tea Parlour on Cape Town’s Long Street is also all about responsibility and respecting the earth, running in as eco-friendly a way as possible. They recycle, use biodegradable packaging and run the parlour on gas, but aim to be powered by solar in the future.

The Dispensary’s healthy ingredients aren’t only found on their Inspiration Menu; they stock all sorts of feel-good and eco-friendly products including Lady Bonin teas. You can find superfoods and spices aplenty, however you like them be it raw, whole, vegan or organic. Eco-friendly soaps, shampoos, cleaning supplies, and more, are available for purchase.

So come on down for this tasting affair and treat your body to some nourishing refreshment. How do you like your tea?
