Queensland’s finest take on Allister Coetzee’s fighting side in an all or nothing game

The DHL Stormers are in need of some good news before they go head to head with the Queensland Reds on Saturday, 25 May 2013 at Newlands Stadium in Cape Town. Kick-off is at 5:05pm.

The number-ten ranked Western Cape side has had a tumultuous season plagued with injury, and, now the entire team has been fined after being found guilty of insulting match officials during their game against the Hurricanes on Friday, 26 April. Compounded further by a devastating 21-15 loss to the Waratahs in Australia - the Stormers conceded a potential win in the last ten minutes of the game - our hometown hero’s troubles are mounting, and there’s enormous pressure behind them to win this match and upcoming games.

Coach Allister Coetzee has implemented changes – some injury related – to the squad with hopes that a fresh batch of players in the starting line-up will shake things up and provide some much-needed motivation.

On the other side of things, the fourth-ranked Reds are confident about their South Africa tour, which starts in Bloemfontein against the Cheetahs on Saturday, 18 May 2013. The Queensland side has had a steady streak of five wins and two draws and will likely be playing with added confidence with the return of captain James Horwill.

It might be considered as a no-contest game, but it’s more than likely that the Stormers will be fighting with everything they have to secure a win and keep themselves on the road to the finals. Needless to say, fans can expect one humdinger of a game.

Tickets range in price from R50p/p to R140p/p, and can be purchased at Ticketpros.co.za. Tickets can also be bought at Newlands Stadium starting on the Tuesday before match day (21 May 2013).
