Sisters Incorporated Women’s Day Tea

Celebrate Women’s Day and help raise funds for the victims of domestic violence

On Women’s Day - Thursday, 9 August 2012 - Sisters Incorporated is hosting a fundraising tea at Signal Restaurant at the Cape Grace Hotel in the V&A Waterfront in an effort to aid the countless women and children affected by domestic violence. So, fluff your feathers for a glamorous event with a pointed purpose.

At the charity event, Linda Fugard, from Sisters Incorporated, along with guest speakers from the many sponsors will deliver talks relevant to the modern woman. Additionally, look forward to dining on dainty finger foods while being pampered by Mangwanani staff with hand massages and neck massages. Lucky draws will be held throughout the day with loads of prizes to be won from amazing sponsors, like Miglio, Tomes and the Cape Grace Hotel, to name but a few. All the proceeds of this event will go to the Sisters Incorporated welfare organisation in a bid to provide much needed support for abused women and children.

Founded in 1959, Sisters Incorporated was initially a refuge for single pregnant women, something that was taboo during that era. While society soon evolved to accept unmarried mothers, there was a worrying increase in domestic violence. Amending their constitution to respond to the needs of the victims of such violation, Sisters Incorporated expanded to service and support abused women and children, from all walks of life.
