Watching this film at this stunning estate is as easy as Pi

The Galileo Open Air Cinema is hosting yet another star-gazing cinematic experience with the Life of Pi at Anthonij Rupert Wyne on Saturday, 1 April 2017. This screening happens in the last month of movies with The Galileo Open Air Cinema for the season, so don’t miss your final opportunity to experience movie greatness with a view of the stunning Drakenstein Mountains. The last screening is on Saturday, 29 April 2017 (Pride and Prejudice at Knorhoek Wine Estate).

Life of Pi, based on the 2001 novel by Yann Martel, follows the vivid adventure of a boy, Pi, which sees him through various extraordinary experiences. Pi’s family owns a zoo, which is where he encounters the rare Bengal tiger Richard Parker, who stays with Pi through most of the film (and book).

Anthonij Rupert Wyne Estate plays host to this screening, and boy-oh-boy have they got some cool things planned. The venue will open at 5pm (even though the movie will not start until 7:45pm) to give guests an opportunity to explore their picnic food market. A marquee will be set up close to the screening lawn and various stalls will be set up to allow guests to browse and buy a selection of delicious picnic foods. Wine, soft drinks, mineral water, freshly brewed coffee, other hot drinks and various popcorn varieties will be available on the day too.

If you prefer, you can order a picnic basket in advance for the little ones and arrive to a delicious meal already packed for your darlings. That’ll give you a chance to shop around for exactly what you feel like, all the while knowing that your children is perfectly contented with their dinner. From there all you will need to do is pick it up, find a spot and wait for the movie to start. This really is an awesome and unique family experience!
