Join the Herd and Help Save Elephants!
Kids invited to paint in partnership with Artjamming and IFAW to raise money for the animal kingdom
Calling all children between five and twelve years old with an artistic flair and a conservation conscience! Help save the elephants by registering for the “E is for Elephant” event before Thursday, 5 July 2012, and you could score one of fifty spots to paint for free for a good cause alongside celebrities.
The International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) and Artjamming are joining together to host a fun-filled, two-day affair in the name of saving the elephants from the ivory trade. Taking place from Wednesday, 11 July until Thursday, 12 July 2012 at the Centre Court of Cavendish Square, this event is a fun and educational way for the kids to spend some holiday time.
How it works
Day one starts at 10am and ends at 4pm and consists of free hour-long ‘paint jams’ starting every hour on the hour. Children throughout Cape Town are invited to get creative while learning about our precious wildlife. The paintings they create will serve as a backdrop for Thursday evening’s cocktail party, during which painted doors will be auctioned.
Day two is for 50 lucky tykes who have registered online using the Artjamming website (registration closes on 5 July 2012). The winners are entitled to a spot to paint a door with a celebrity. The day starts at 10 am and goes on until 4pm, during which participants spend a one-hour painting session with a celebrity. Day two focuses on painting doors in an elephant theme; these masterpieces will later be auctioned off for charity.
The auction takes place from 6pm until 8pm at the Centre Court of Cavendish Square.
