Giving birth can get complicated, and these complications impact baby the most. This is where wards like Groote Schuur’s Neonatal Unit come into play.
They give care to sick and premature newborn infants, working tirelessly to give these babies a chance to live happy normal lives.
To raise money and maintain their standards, they’re throwing a fundraiser. They’ve brought in local pop stars and bands for a benefit concert called Every Baby Counts, and they want you to come and enjoy the performances, raising funds for the unit in the process.
The show is happening on 1 May 2019 at the Hillcrest Quarry in Durbanville.
THE PERFORMERS
Pop star and The Voice SA winner Craig Lucas will be performing at the show along with two piece electronic band Goodluck, Cape Town based violinist Hezron Chetty and singer songwriter Alanna Joy.
Here are some videos to show you what you’ll be enjoying in return for helping sick babies:

Up to 75 babies are at the unit at any given time and this can add up to 3200 per year.
