Half-Price Sundays Stand-Up at Cape Town Comedy Club
Laugh 50% off top-notch entertainment every last day of the week at this one-stop-funny-shop
End the weekend off on a hilariously high note with top-notch entertainment and first-rate stand up at Cape Town Comedy Club (formerly Jou Ma Se Comedy Club). It’s the best – or is that the funniest?! – thing you can do on a Sunday. What’s more, their half-price special will put a wider smile on your dial, and their cast of world-class comedians will make sure it stays there. The club invites all to giggle and guffaw through their last show of the week at only R60/p, instead of the usual price of R120/p.
Located in the V&A Waterfront’s industrial-chic landmark venue, The Pumphouse building, Cape Town Comedy Club showcases some of the best live comedy and stand-up performers in the biz. Audiences can expect to see the likes of Marc Lottering, Rob van Vuuren and Barry Hilton, as well as crowd favourite guest acts like Conrad Koch (Chester Missing).
Many up-and-coming stand-up stars got their start at the club’s five-minute open-mic slot. This is because club owner and legendary funnyman Kurt Schoonraad is passionate about developing new talent. The club rotates its line-up regularly, with a fresh emcee and four comedians taking to the spotlight to strut their stuff each week. This makes for a fun(ny) Sunday night out – the last chance to catch the week’s line-up in their big blowout ‘finale’ performance.
More than just world-class comedic entertainment, guests can also enjoy a complete dinner-and-a-show experience at Cape Town Comedy Club as the spot has it’s own restaurant.Diners can expect casual favourites likes calamari and various grills, as well as the tasty 'Jou Ma Se Burger' and 'Jou Ma Se Gatsby' – a spin on the popular Cape Town classic, the gatsby: a half-sized baguette filled with lamb and all the trimmings goes really well with comedy on a Sunday night! With happy hour from 6pm to 7pm, and full bar service all night, the city’s top stand-up spot is sure to keep you – and your pockets – happy and laughing at Cape Town Comedy Club’s Half-Price Sundays.
