St Luke’s Women’s Day Brunch

Celebrate Women’s Day this August in style while supporting the good people at St Luke’s Hospice

In honour of Women’s Day on Thursday, 9 August 2012, St Luke’s hospice is hosting a Women’s Day fundraising brunch at the Belmont Square Conference Centre in Rondebosch.

With an inspirational keynote speaker (Zimbabwean-born Dawn Garisch – poet, author and medical doctor), live musical entertainment and a scrumptious spread of breakfast-cum-lunch treats, the affair promises to be a morning of fun, indulgence and inspiration.

Not to mention, all proceeds go towards St Luke’s Hospice patient care; an initiative which allows community nurses to go to homes and provide much needed support and care to terminally ill patients and their families.

Tickets include a welcome drink of sparkling wine or juice, a delicious buffet brunch and a goodie bag filled with pamper products. Guests also stand a chance to win prizes sponsored by Environ, Revlon Honey jewellery and Hillcrest Berry Farm, to name a few,  in the lucky draws and raffles on the day.

St Luke’s Hospice was established in 1980 with the help of Dame Cecily Saunders, globally recognised initiator of the hospice concept. From their original offices at Vincent Palotti Hospital in Pinelands to a small space in Trill Road, Observatory to their current premises in Kenilworth, St Luke’s Hospice has grown and expanded. They now have 13 community offices in and around Cape Town, each of which provides palliative care – care that focuses on relieving and preventing the suffering of terminally ill patients and their family members.
