Summer sees some awesome live music festivals on the event calendar for Cape Town and the rest of the Western Cape, and Up the Creek on the Breede River is one to buy tickets for as soon as possible, since it usually sells out quickly.

Up the Creek 2012 will be rocking the Breede River from the 2 – 5th February 2012. Many a Saffer and Capetonian’s favourite annual music festival, the 2012 version features an awesome line up on three stages: The main stage, MK River Stage and the all- night-long Bos Breede River bar stage. This is a February must do event so if you didn’t know now you know.

Up the Creek music festival 2012 will bring you the same of what worked last year and more (awesome live South African music acts near next to an awesome river): More food vendors to get you through the days in style, including coffee maestros that can deliver your caffeine to your tent-step, more stalls and more bars throughout the festival.

Up the Creek line up for 2012 includes

aKing, Jeremy Loops, Shadowclub, Hot Water, Holiday Murray, Peachy Keen, City Bowl Mizers, Taxi Violence and even an AC/DC tribute to name but a few.

Anything that Floats Competition

Lobster lilos, Indian canoes, floating bars and human tube chains are making a comeback at this river party. Following the splashing, singing, howling success of last year’s float competition, the benchmark has been set. So put your creativity to the test and we’ll be giving away some awesome prizes for a variety of creative floats this year.  Bos Iced Tea are sponsoring the competition with an absolutely to- die- for winners package prize.

Participants are encouraged to think outside of their beach gear boxes in order to stand a chance to win these incredible prizes.

At this stage, categories include anything from the best design and most floatable contraption to the most luxurious device on the Breede River.
