Thai Trade Show at the Cape Town International Convention Centre

Get a taste of Thailand’s exotic food, fashion and culture

In honour of a lengthy history of established trade between South Africa and Thailand(2013 marks the 20th year), the Royal Thai Government’s Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP) is set to, once again, host the annual Thailand Trade Show at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) from Tuesday, 18 to Thursday, 20 June 2013.

In 2012 alone, bilateral trade between the two aforementioned countries grew to more than five billion US dollars, said to be the highest recorded level between the nations in the last two decades.

In an effort to encourage future relations and to further boost the economy of both countries, the show is open to South African retailers, importers and buyers looking to solidify lucrative relationships with their Thailand counterparts on Tuesday, 18 and Wednesday, 19 June 2013. Those eager to take advantage of a more intimate session with like-minded individuals can attend a trade-only business-to-business networking breakfast on Tuesday, 18 June; for more information, and to register for the breakfast, contact lindi@tradeprojects.co.za.

Not forgetting the importance of the everyday consumer, the expo is open to the public on Thursday, 20 June 2013. Those attending the exhibition can get a taste of the Asian nation’s famed aromatic dishes, with cooking demonstrations led by Thai master chefs on the cards. Not to mention, as Thailand is billed as the beauty and wellness capital of Asia and an authority on spa treatments, it comes as no surprise that the fair will feature a plethora of top-notch health and beauty products too.

Entrance to the expo is gratis, mahala, free, so get those walking shoes on for a memorable complimentary experience. The exhibition will operate from 9:30am to 6pm on Tuesday and Wednesday and from 9:30am to 4pm on Thursday.
