The Kiffness at Die Mystic Boer in Stellenbosch

Groovy electro duo set to rock out this cosy Cape Winelands venue

Local electronic act The Kiffness returns to Die Mystic Boer in Stellenbosch on Saturday, 23 August 2014 to wrap up their ‘What the Kiff’ series of successful monthly Saturday events with a bang.

The chart-topping act consists of lifelong friends Dave Scott and Mvelo Shandu, who’ve recently released their latest album, KIFF (July 2014) – partygoers should listen out for epic new tunes like ‘Away From Here’ and ‘Find a Way’, which features indie rock band Shortstraw.

While both musicians contribute to track vocals, Scott brings his proficiency in keyboard, trumpet and production elements to the party and Shandu (AKA Black Norris) his knowledge of bass and drums. The result is a toe-tapping, hip-shaking sound that’s sure to get any party started.

Since forming in 2009, the act has skyrocketed to success on the local music scene. Their second single, ‘Where Are You Going?’, dominated the airwaves, making the number two spot on the 5FM Top40 and ultimately reaching number one on the MTV Dance Charts. The track also appeared on the NOW 65 compilation CD.

The Kiffness has been known to bring the house down at a number of local hotspots and music festivals, including The Assembly and the annual jol Oppikoppi.

The pair is also famed for being serious crowd-pleasers – meaning that guests can look forward to not only some fresh, first-rate music, but also a serious vibe.

And for newbies to Die Mystic Boer, affectionately known as Mystics, the colourful and creatively styled hidey-hole has a well-stocked bar, plenty of comfy seating space and some funky wall art to boot.
