Sunday Edition #2 at Neighbourgoods Market feat BCUC & KAJAMA

Be a part of this one-day inner-city cultural festival. Sunday Edition is a showcase of the freshest and most diverse design, art and music that Cape Town has to offer.

Prepare yourself for a stellar lineup of live performances by the champions of Mzansi’s new sound, and immerse yourself in a vibrant cross-section of Cape Town’s emerging street culture.

With a fresh offering every month, Sunday Edition throws open the doors to a diverse and iconic urban African scene, where you can find everything from limited edition art-zines and poster prints to cutting-edge street fashion from local designers. At Sunday Edition you’ll be treated to an insider’s view of what has been brewing in the hidden corners of SA’s rapidly shifting cultural landscape.

WHAT TO EXPECT AT SUNDAY EDITION #2 FEAT. BCUC AND KAJAMA

MUSIC: Round two, and Black Major (a prominent music agency based in Woodstock) has once again curated a lineup that’s set to shake you up in all the right ways. The bewitching sounds and electronic beats of future-soul act Kajama welcome you into the afternoon, before headliners BCUC (Bantu Continua Uhuru Consciousness) bring their hip-shaking afro-psychedelic storm to the live stage. This will be the sextet’s first show since returning from their sell-out European tour. Supporting sounds are supplied by DJ Fred Spider, DJ Mighty and the Endless Daze DJs.

VISUAL ART: Each month, Sunday Edition's visual feast is the handiwork of a new, notable local artist, who is handpicked to interpret and re-imagine the festival’s imagery and theme. This month street artist Mr_Fuzzy_Slipperz transforms the event into a blaze of stroke and colour. The first 300 attendees are treated to a limited-edition art-zine created by the artist in collaboration with Dream Press (a local independent publisher).

ZINES AND PRINTS: Zines are informal, expressive, self-published visual magazines and books by artists and writers. The first Sunday Edition featured just a few zine-makers and poster artists, now the offering has grown to feature a fascinating collection of Cape Town’s most dynamic and unusual independently produced print art.

FOOD: When it comes to Cape Town’s unrivaled food scene, you can always rest assured that the Neighbourgoods Market will bring together the richest, most enticing offering of local street food stars. Expect a mouthwatering lineup of food trucks, street vendors and micro chefs to be serving it up to the hungry crowds.

BEERS, COCKTAILS AND THE BEST APEROL SPRITZ IN TOWN: Dedicated bars serving ice-cold beers and crafted cocktails throughout the day means that no one goes thirsty. If you’re looking for the essential summer quencher, the Aperol Spritz bar has perfected the crispest spritz in the city. Don’t miss the chance to try it.

DESIGNER STREET FASHION: Cape Town’s freshest street labels and vintage fashion merchants will be displaying their collections. This means the edgiest and most unforgettable looks on the city’s streets are all under one roof.
