Cycling enthusiasts get your tyres pumped and stretch those legs! The 10th annual Stellenbosch Cycle Tour is hitting the road once again on Sunday, 4 December 2016. This 97-km cycling race will take riders around the Cape Winelands, and along some of the most stunning roads with mountains and vineyards as the backdrop.
The Stellenbosch Cycle Tour will once again feature the Helshoogte Pass (between Franschhoek and Stellenbosch) and will have an estimated 7500 cyclists taking part in the big day. This event appeals to both accomplished riders as well as those who are looking to better their times and gain some experience with a challenging route. The Stellenbosch Cycle Tour is the final race that determines cyclists’ placement for the upcoming 2017 Cape Cycle Tour.
So grab your gear, fill up those water bottles and get those legs ready for action with this stellar biking event, or bring along the kids to watch all the action. Spectators can see all the action from the refreshment stations dotted throughout the race route.
