Pride and Prejudice Screening at Knorhoek Wine Estate

“Have you no consideration for my poor nerves?”

"A lady's imagination is very rapid; it jumps from admiration to love, from love to matrimony in a moment." - Mr Darcy, Pride and Prejudice

It is a truth universally acknowledged that Pride and Prejudice is the best novel in the world. If you have taken the time to read it, then you will understand why millions of readers since its original publication in 1813 can see its immense merit. The Galileo Open Air Cinema has decided that their season ender will bring a touch of English sophistication to the event with a screening of Pride and Prejudice at Knorhoek Wine Estate in Stellenbosch on Saturday, 29 April 2017 from 6pm to 9:30pm.

Arguably the most popular of Jane Austen’s novels, Pride and Prejudice follows the lives of five sisters and their mother’s mission to marry them off. Mrs. Bennet is an irksome but loveable character, and her antics make the story as enriching as it is. You can’t really separate the novel from the romance between Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth Bennet and that’s why, to us anyway, it is one of the greatest love stories to ever grace this fine Earth.

Get excited for this very special screening at the stunning Knorhoek Wine Estate in Stellenbosch. It’s only an hour outside of Cape Town, and I can’t think of a better way to say goodbye to the summer weather and welcome in the cold than a night underneath the stars, snuggled under a blanket with your special someone. The geniuses at the Galileo Open Air Cinema are experts on romantic date nights, so hand things over to them and rest assured that with your VIP ticket, you’ll arrive at the venue with treats, blankets and drinks already reserved for you!

Have a look at the trailer below and enjoy the warming sounds of a very deep voiced American man set over the top (a strange choice, but who is to judge really?):

As usual at a Galileo screening there will be plenty of delicious food vendors in case you didn’t pack a picnic from home (or if you did but the food on offer at the event really takes your fancy); we wouldn’t judge you. There will also be warm drink vendors, a must at the end of the season as the weather at night can get jolly chilly double quick. On that note, please make sure to dress warmly and bring blankets to get cuddly underneath!
