Award-winning filmmaker Renée Scheltema presents Normal Is Over, a documentary that addresses environmental issues and its correlation with the state of the economy. The film will be screened from Friday, 5 August to Sunday, 7 August 2016 at The Labia Theatre – book your tickets for this exclusive showing now.
Dutch documentary filmmaker and photographer Renée Scheltema has spent the last 30 years using her craft to create awareness for various concerns that affect people across the globe. Her previous work focused on subjects such as art, science and social issues. Renée’s latest project, Normal Is Over, centres on the environment and sustainability while taking a look at the various ways in which the economy affects climate change, the use of natural resources and food production.
Renée travelled to the USA, India, South Africa and parts of Europe to discuss the state of the planet. The film features experts on environmentalism as well as everyday folks who have an interest in saving the planet – viewers can expect to hear reports from Paul Gilding (former CEO of Greenpeace), Dr. Ian McCallum, Al Gore, and various professors in fields of finance, history and agriculture.
Note: The Cape Town screening of the film will be followed by a Q and A session with Renée Scheltema and the following special guests:
TICKETS TO THE 2016 SCREENING OF NORMAL IS OVER AT THE LABIA
To book tickets for Normal Is Over at The Labia Theatre, call +27 (0)21 424 5927. Tickets are priced at R45p/p. The screening will take place over three days from Friday, 5 August to Sunday, 7 August 2016 at 6:15pm.
The Labia Theatre has extended the screening of Normal Is Over due to popular demand and it will be showing from Friday, 12 August to Thursday, 25 August 2016 at 1:45pm and 6:15pm.
