Keep calm, it’s Gin O’ Clock

Ordering lobster off any menu adds a feeling of luxury to your dining experience. Craft gin is definitely one of the trendiest beverages to be seen sipping on in Cape Town right now. On Friday, 20 October 2017, you can indulge in both these things at Burger & Lobster’s Gin O’ Clock. This event, one of a series of evenings hosted at the hip eatery, is delicious, classy and wallet-savvy. Each event in the series showcases one special South African gin and serves it for half the price. This time round Wilderer gin takes centre stage.

Burger & Lobster hit the Mother City in 2016 and it’s menu instantly established the restaurant and cocktail bar as chic Bree Street hangout. Here you can tuck into the freshest, consciously caught lobster and lobster rolls, or sink your teeth into pure beef burgers.

The menu is small and simple; part of what makes it special, as every meal is stunningly presented and beautifully cooked.

There are three main meals and five desserts, including a Mississippi mud pie and a dangerously delicious Oreo and Nutella cheesecake (we say ‘dangerous’ because you’ll want to gorge yourself on more than just one slice). There is also top tipple on offer and an extensive cocktail pairing menu. Look out for the bacon and maple Old Fashioned cocktail for an awesome taste experience.

Wilderer Fynbos Gin tastes as deliciously natural as it sounds. A selection of indigenous  plants are gathered from the unique fynbos of South Africa to make up the distinct botanical flavour. Featuring flora include honeybush, buchu, devil’s claw and wild dagga. Wine spirits and mountain spring water from Franschhoek is added to the blend, making for one delicious craft gin. Wilderer gin was awarded Gold in the 2016 Meininger International Spirits Award in Germany. Along with its gin, Wilderer Distillery is also a producer of fine schnapps, grappa and eau de vie – the name for clear fruit brandy.

Entry to this gin-credible event is totally free. Things will begin at 4pm and continue into the night until 11:30pm.
