On Friday, 23 June 2017 Lourensford Wine Estate, in Somerset West, is playing host to the annual HGG Gala for Good Charity Dinner in honour of a very worthy cause. The evening gets underway at 7pm, and continues on into the night (there is no official end time).
The HGG Financial group is sponsoring this year’s event and their main objective is to raise money for the Masincedane Community Service. This organisation focuses on providing healthcare and employment services to over 4000 members of the Helderberg community. The programmes are very diverse and include food preparation training, as well as home-based healthcare. This cause encourages employment and aims to train responsible job-seekers by placing them in empowering positions in the wider community.
The event is a black-tie affair, so make sure you dress up in your best finery for an evening of sophisticated charity and good cheer. The event itself takes the form of a wine and food pairing dinner, complete with experts to explain the pairings to you. You’ll be able to learn which wines best compliment which proteins and accompaniments, so you can create a taste sensation at your next dinner party! There will also be live music for you to enjoy, provided by Renate Riedemann. Have a listen to what kind of sounds you can expect from this SA songstress:
