Five Flies Winter Murder Mysteries

Murder, intrigue and bloody good food

Five Flies Restaurant is hosting an epic culinary and entertainment feast  as part of their winter offering  - which will include five murder mystery nights at the renowned Cape Town restaurant between June and September.

The theme for the murder mystery evenings will span five decades, traverse five different continents and are all interlinked by a common thread. Think Dan Brown’s ‘The Da Vinci Code’, ‘National Treasure’ and ‘Indiana Jones’ with a hint of Agatha Christy.

How it works
Each table will comprise eight people and though it’s great fun to book a table of eight friends, bookings of two and upwards is welcome. The cost of R300 per person includes a welcome drink, three course meal, entertainment and of course, the murder mystery game. People who book for all five events will receive a discount.

A week before the event those who have booked a seat receive information about the characters they are to play including: their personality traits, background and most importantly clues on how to dress the part. Each table will consist of eight suspects, four males and four females, so there is often a a spot of cross-dressing involved - but that just adds to the fun. To kick things off participants will receive a welcome drink and it's about that time that the victim's body will be discovered ( hence suspects not guests), for each course of food that is plated a new set of clues finds its way to the table.Throughout the game  hosts... err detectives will facilitate the investigation and help steer the case in the right direction so that justice may served.

The concept is great for corporate functions and events. It is a fantastic evening of fun and entertainment and a sure way to beat the winter blues in Cape Town.

Dates and themes for the Five Flies murder mystery nights
Friday 1 June

Horrific Hieroglyphics set in Egypt 1940. In this mystery an ancient and priceless parchment referring to ancient astronauts is discovered and leads a group of explorers on an ambitious journey to Cairo. Once there, disaster strikes and one of the group is found floating in the Nile. It had to be one of the remaining eight who had killed him, but who and why?

Information on each event will follow its precursor, as information discovered in each leads to the start of the next. While it is not essential that you attend all five, as each game will contain the important information on the last, we would like to encourage you to do just that. Get together with a group of friends, sharpen your detective skills, raid your cupboards for some creative costumes and attempt to solve each mystery in this epic saga.

RSVP before or on the 25th of May 2012.  Dress up theme: Ancient Egypt

Friday 29 June
