The local singing sensation that has been making waves in Berlin and abroad will be performing for two nights only in the Mother City. Alice Phoebe Lou will move the audience with her raw singing style at the Central Methodist Church in Greenmarket Square on Thursday, 2 and Friday, 3 February 2017.
The young singer is turning the music world on its head with her fiercely independent approach to her music and image. At the age of 18 she began busking on the streets of Berlin while on a gap year. Alice was playing in a park when the organiser of TEDxBerlin asked her to come and perform on stage. Her heartfelt and honest performance on the TEDx stage was a resounding success, amassing over 480 000 views online.
Many major record labels have offered to work with Alice, but she has turned them all down. “For me, they have too much creative control over your image, and they can basically have the last say in a lot of creative decisions like through your music,” she notes.
The supporting act for these performances is London-based musician Olmo, and Alice will be joined on stage by her band.
TICKETS TO THE 2017 ALICE PHOEBE LOU PERFORMANCE IN CAPE TOWN
Tickets to the show are available online via Quicket.co.za and will cost R155p/p. The performances kick of at 7pm and the evening will wrap up at 10pm.
