Let’s talk about education

TEDx Cape Town Ed plans to inspire the hearts and minds of educators this Youth Day, Saturday 16 June 2012 at the Ratanga Junction MegaVu. This once-off event focuses on promoting innovation and creativity in regard to education related issues. This conference is targeted specifically at educators who are looking for the inspiration to create change in the classroom and the world.

What (or who) is TEDx
A non-profit organization, devoted to “Ideas Worth Spreading”, TED started as a four-day conference nearly 30 years ago and has grown to initiate multiple global projects centred on sustainable change. TEDx (x = independently organized event), is a locally organized subsidiary event of TED, and is also devoted to bringing people together to share ideas and instigate deep discussion.

The organisers have a line-up of expert speakers billed to discuss the complexity of the connection between the youth and education.

Tickets for the main auditorium are sold out; however, tickets for the live video feed – which takes place in a room just adjacent to the event - are still available. To book your seat, go to tedxcapetowned.org; the cost is R275 p/p. A light lunch and refreshments will be served. There will be live entertainment and you will have access to the speakers during breaks. Parking is available.
